Simple gameplay, but strategy matters
The grid and marks in Tic Tac Toe
The rules of Tic Tac Toe
- Two players alternate marking the spaces in a 3x3 grid, one as "X" and the other as "O".
- The goal is to place three of your marks in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row before your opponent does.
- If all nine squares are filled without either player achieving this, the game ends in a tie, often called a "tie".
Despite its simple structure, Tic Tac Toe requires blocking your opponent, planning two-move scenarios, and forcing them into mistakes are all part of the fun.
Game controls
- Click on the grid to place the mark on the computer.
- Tap on the grid to place the mark on the mobile.
This puzzle game has similar game controls to Connect Dots, where you connect the dots to complete the shape.
Modes, Multiplayer, and Fast Matches in Tic Tac Toe
This online version allows you to choose one of these modes:
- Single-player mode against the computer (ideal when you want a quick solo challenge).
- Two-player mode on the same device (great for competing with a friend side-by-side).
