Paper.io
A Beginner's Guide to Playing Paper.io
Move your square to create new territory
In Paper.io, you control a small square that moves continuously around the map. When you leave your colored area, your character leaves a trail behind. To claim new territory, you only need to connect your trail back to your existing land. The entire shape you traced will instantly become part of your zone.
The small square you need to control in Paper.ioBeware of attacks, your trail is your weak spot
When you are outside your territory and your trail is exposed, you are extremely vulnerable. If another player touches your trail before you close it, your square is destroyed, and you lose instantly. But this mechanic is not just a danger because it is also your best weapon.
You can eliminate other players by targeting their open trail and waiting for them to move too far away from their base.
Competitive Multiplayer Experience in Paper.io
Paper.io may look casual at first glance, but its competitive nature becomes clear once you start expanding territory while avoiding multiple threats at the same time. The game offers two main multiplayer experiences depending on your playstyle.
Solo Mode
In this mode, you fight alone to expand your territory while surviving attacks from all directions. You should build compact, safe territories instead of stretching too far and avoid wandering too far from their base. Solo Mode is perfect for players who enjoy personal skill challenges and want full control over the match.
Team Mode
If you prefer group strategies and coordinated gameplay, Team Mode is the ideal choice. Here, you and several teammates work together to capture the majority of the map while competing against other teams.
This mode delivers a true battlefield feeling, especially when your whole team works together to dominate the map.
